My Current Favorite Liquid Lipsticks

Hey Guys,

Hope you all had an amazing weekend! I had a rather productive weekend, I spent my Saturday finishing up my assignments, trying to revamp my blog, and on Sunday my friend Hannah and I went to the city to read a book in Bryant Park (I am currently reading Blink by Malcom Gladwell) and to shop the sale going on at Zara.

Anyways I should stop digressing and come back to the post 😀 This week I am talking about my current favorite liquid lipsticks. This is my first makeup related post, I haven’t done one so far as I am not that familiar with makeup myself, so before I get into sharing any posts I wanted to test it out for you guys. I took some pictures couple of weeks back of each of these liquid lipsticks and how they wear on my lips, but I accidentally deleted them and I only have some pictures of the swatches. Sorry! 😦

So as you can tell from the pictures above, there are two liquid lipsticks which are high end, the other two are easily available in the drugstore for less than $10.

I love mixing the Kat Von D (Shade – Lolita) and the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme (Shade Milan). I know a lot of people suggest the shade Lolita as the perfect nude for brown skin, but it looks a little too light on my skin, so I love mixing the two to give it that pinky nude undertone. I wouldn’t necessarily wear these liquid lipsticks separately, but they are amazing to wear by themselves for someone who has lighter skin tone than me.

As for the Wet N Wild liquid lipstick (Shade- Berry Recognize) I heard such great reviews on it so I had to buy it. I went with the shade berry because it’s such a unique color that I don’t own. I also love mixing this shade with any nude lipstick or lipliner, but it also wears really well by itself. For the price point, there’s really no going wrong with this product.

And Finally, we have the RealHer lipstick (Shade – I am ambitious) which I got in my FabfitFun Spring Box. The formula is amazing, and the shade red really goes well on any skin tone. This retails for $18, a little less than Kat Von D, but I highly recommend this product. I love subscription boxes for makeup products, because a lot of times you get to try and discover new products.

The formulas of all these lipsticks are bang on, they stay put and don’t budge. Of course all liquid lipsticks are super drying on the lips, so what I usually do is scrub my lips with lip scrub and apply vaseline before I apply the liquid lipstick. This has stopped my liquid lipsticks from drying too much and gives it a smoother look. I have suffered with chapped lips for as long as I can remember, so take it from me when I say liquid lipsticks can be your best friend, if you apply vaseline throughout the day and drink loads and loads of water.

I hope you guys liked this post, if you want more such makeup related posts do comment below and let me know! I love experimenting with new products and reviewing it for you guys. Be sure to follow me on my Instagram to get more updates 🙂

    1. The drying factor is definitely a big problem when it comes to liquid lipsticks. But since I started using lip scrubs, vaseline and drinking lots of water, I noticed that it stops it from drying.
